Floare de Colt

The title of this piece is Romanian (literal translation “flowers from the corners”). It refers to a rare flower that grows in the Carpathian mountains. It is an engangerd species and is protected by law.

It is also the name of the organization my sister is working for through Peace Corps in Romania protecting the victims of domestic violence. These women and children are also fragile flowers that deserve dignity and protection.
